Mike and JD in Cuba (Feb 2007)

Mike and I spent a hot and relaxing week in Cuba in February of this year! After a major delay, our Zoom flight finally left for Varadero. We arrived close to midnight so had no idea what poverty we were driving through to get to our all inclusive hotel, Internacionale! Although dated, this hotel was clean, friendly and on the best stretch of beach in Varadero. We spent all our days on the beach except for one day trip to Havana mid week and a catamaran trip later in the week. The crystal clear ocean and powder sandy beach will likely beckon us back some day!

Christmas 2006 in Lindsay - Santa's Newest Reindeer!!!!!

Some of you will remember the pictures of the families wearing the same blonde wigs!!! Well, here's the start of a new tradition! We all became candidates for Santa's reindeer herd! As luck would have it, none of us got hired! A delicious Christmas dinner à la Mama Rosa was enjoyed by all! The antlers are due to travel to New Brunswick next so that we can take pictures of all of them as well! Joyeuses Fêtes!!

A Stittsville Christmas and New Years (2006)

Santa manages to leave a family gift under the tree every year and 2006 was no exception ... we enjoy our boardgames so we were delighted to find crokinole - or à l'Acadienne - petouche under the tree!!!! What a laugh! After rounds of delight, we settled in front of the fire for the traditional reading of The Night Before Christmas. Tante Juliette gave this pop-up book and tape to Matt and Kyle when they were 1 and 2 years old! How sensitive of them to humour me and still sit through it at the mature age of 19 and 20!! Thanks boys! As you can see from the picture of me sitting on the porch in my Christmas pyjamas, the weather was splendid. After all gifts were opened and breakfast was done, the boys got ready to go to their dad's. The pictures taken of them on the porch proved to be the first of many, many, many pictures of them - and loads of other people - jumping for pictures! Keep watching this spot! Here's to 2007!

Canadian Showtime Chorus In Vegas!

October 2006 was a particularly exciting time for Canadian Showtime Chorus! As wildcard, we were eligible to compete on the international stage in the town of all town, shows of all shows! LAS VEGAS NEVADA! We worked very hard for 18 months from the regional convention stage to the international convention - the mother of all stages - and it paid off! We came a respectable 19th out of 33 chorus! Given that there are over 600 choruses worldwide, to rank 19 is just fine in our book! Our week in Vegas was filled with rehearsals and preparation for the international stage but we managed to venture out a few evenings to tour the strip. A glorious time was had by all and we look forward to our next international stage experience!
